I got this as a gift and the minute it was opened we knew it wasn’t real 100% cashmere by touch alone. It has a wool blend or possibly polyester. I don’t know very dissatisfied and disappointed. DO NOT BE FOOLED LOOK ELSEWHERE.Not as soft as I was expecting but yes 100% true cashmereThis is a really beautiful product. It is incredibly soft, lightweight and warm!! I gave this item as a Christmas gift and it was very well received. I purchased the Merlot color and it was a deep red/garnet . The throw was very smooth with no imperfections. Last but not least, it comes in a beautiful box perfect for gifting—no wrapping required. Very satisfied customer!!!This is a hard review to write, because the fabric is very soft and light weight. It’s just not very warm. It’s actually thinner and much less warm than the alpaca shawls I bought in Peru. Once doubled, it’s adequate, but folded on its length, it becomes very narrow, and barely covers my body’s width - think similar to a skinny sleeping bag. I think its more the thickness for a shawl for a mildly chilly, windy summer night or a ling wrap around scarf. Lastly. although the traditional rugs of many indigenous cultures around the world have fringe, Here, I don’t think it adds anything to this machine made, expensive, luxury item manufactured in China. I don’t plan to return, but I wouldn’t recommend it or buy it again.
