I use this to walk the dogs out late where there are no lights.I like headlamps, but upset that most others made these days use AAA batteries which do not last long.This light uses 4 AA and high beam is aprx 650 lumens, medium 220, low about 50.Medium works fine for me for most things.It seems heavy duty, focusing works well. Switch for on and off is push button on side of lamp. Intensity is rotating nob, 3 position. I am not sure how well the intensity switch will last over time, but I have had good luck with Coast honoring their lifetime warranty on other products, so I am fine with it.This is not a toy, its a sturdy, heavy duty lamp, and its bright.Just what I wanted.
